We’ve recently added the ability to submit work you think might fit nicely into our little community. The format we use for this procedure is pretty simple. 1) You must have an account (spam, etc). 2) Artists must always be credited and links to their work provided. 3) The submissions will be reviewed by staff and not all will be selected, this isn’t personal or even a judgment of the quality of the work. There is a HUGE amount of wonderful art out there, but we try to cover a consistent probably narrow strip. It would simply overwhelm us to broaden our focus at this point.

Now to ease up on the burden imperfect submissions are expected and we are well prepared to do what it takes to get good art seen and we definitely appreciate any and all participation. (:

Finally, for those of you who are curious what our submission format looks like (this is purely for the madly curious) here’s the code that we lovingly wrap each and every piece of art we display:

Vocalize

The vocalize project is possibly one of the simplist, yet confoundingly difficult to explain. I can sum it up quite briefly: it is a project using Odeo (a flash-based service) or email or any other devisable means, to create vocal ‘bumpers’ to be played in place of ads, randomly between songs on our Pop Experiment radio. But what is a bumper?

Well they could be something like this:

This is [NAME] from [COUNTRY] and you’re listening to Pop Experiment Radio.
Vous écoutez la radio Pop Experiment.
Mon nom est [NOM/NAME], je suis de [PAYS/COUNTRY], et vous écoutez la Pop Experiment Radio.
Estes [NOME] e você estão escutando Pop Experiment Radio.
Sono [NOME] da [PAESE] e voi state ascoltando Radio Pop Experiment. (thank you Fran!)
Este [NOMBRE] y tú estáis escuchando Pop Experiment Radio.
هذا الاسم ، وتستمعون الي تجربه بوب الاذاع
Ich bin [nahme] aus [sein land hier] und du hörst zu den radio Popexperiment.

Snapshot

The snapshot project will be a collection of images of day-to-day life. Open to all. Images will be used in the random image viewer (top of the page) and will ideally capture some of the beauty, some of the mundane and some of the differences of our everyday lives. Whoever or where ever we might be. If this sounds like something of interest to you, submit.

Mine = mud.

Guest Podcasting/DJing

Back in the day Danny Copacetic or Indieradio.org pretty much trail-blazed the independant music phenomena. Particularly when it came to the web (IndieRadio.org was a wonderful project). I won’t go into the details regarding Danny (some of you may know already) but he did some wonderful things, among which was his attitude towards guest DJ’s.

Things have changed a little, but not so much really. Podcasts fill in some gaps for the RSS/iTunes users and we do try to keep our podcasts up-to-date and interesting. But there’s always room for variety, right?

So, if you’d be interested in producing either a podcast or doing a guest DJ segment feel free to contact us here.

Its fun. Trust me.

Logo/Banner

Logos and artwork aren’t *my* strong point. That said, this project is a place to find banners or, for the daring or creatively adventerous, share. All in the name of art. Good art.
